ASHTABULA — John Pecchia threw three touchdowns passes — including two to Pat Durkin, who had four catches for 145 yards — as Youngstown Christian defeated Sts. John & Paul 45-0 in an East Suburban Conference game Friday.

Pecchia also threw a 10-yard TD pass to Victor Shaw and the quarterback completed seven of 11 passes for 198 yards.

Marquel Smith scored on a 21-yard run and finished with 120 yards on 15 carries for the Eagles, who benefited from five interceptions.

Rounding out the scoring for Youngstown Christian (2-2, 1-0) were Carlen Sims with a 4-yard TD run and Caleb Yanno with a 65-yard TD scamper. Teammate Jose Echevestre also registered two points on a safety when he blocked a punt in the end zone in the second quarter.

For SJP (0-4, 0-1), Ryan Colby caught nine passes for 120 yards.
