Sacred Assembly
WARREN — The 45-member Warren Area Pastors will have a Sacred Assembly at 6 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Downtown Amphitheater to focus on restoring the area. The goal of the program is to honor local leaders, educators and officials with support through prayer.
Homecoming celebration
YOUNGSTOWN — Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave., will hold a harvest time and homecoming celebration. Events will begin at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 with Pastor Kevin Crum and New Hope Baptist Church as guests.
Programs, all at 6:30 p.m., will include former members who now are pastors. The schedule is Sept. 22, Pastor Kenneth L. Simon of New Bethel Baptist Church; Sept. 23, Pastor Larry Parker of Fellowship Baptist Church; Sept. 24, Pastor Hubert Clardy of Shiloh Baptist Church; Sept. 25, Pastor Willie Peterson of New Birth-Kimmelbrook Baptist Church; and Sept. 26, Pastor Eleanor Felder of Holy Bible Church of God.
There will be a luncheon and auction at noon Sept. 27 at the E. B. Family Life Center; the cost is $10 and includes a buffet dinner.

First Friday Club
BOARDMAN — The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will meet Oct. 2 at Antone’s Banquet Centre on Market Street. Featured speaker Jim Tobin will present “Preparing to Vote in 2008 Presidential Elections.” He is associate director of the Ohio Catholic Conference Social Concerns Department in Columbus.

About financial gifts
GIRARD — Should churches and other nonprofit organizations accept money that was obtained in a way that they consider morally or ethically wrong? Does the good that might be done with the financial gift outweigh any objections to the source of that money?

Guest speaker
EAST PALESTINE — The Rev. John Hersh of Ozer Ministries will be guest speaker at the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St. The Rev. Mr. Hersh and his wife, Daryl, founded Ozer Ministries 21years ago in East Palestine, and they are chaplains at Tobin Youth Attention Center in Lisbon.
Mass for guild
CAMPBELL — Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will hold its monthly Mass Thursday at St. Lucy Church, 404 Tenney Ave. The rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10.
Concerts at church
YOUNGSTOWN — Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Niles-Canfield Road, will host two concerts by Dust & Ashes. Tom and Mary Lou Troutman will present their music ministry at the 9:30 a.m. worship service and at 7 p.m. Sept. 21. Dust & Ashes have recorded 13 albums and their music focuses on the Christian faith.
Women’s panel
YOUNGSTOWN — Solid Rock Interdenominational Church, 3507 Canfield Road, Cornersburg, will hold a women’s panel at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 with the theme “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” from 2 Corinthians 3:17. Panelists will be evangelist Crystal Rogers of Upper Room Ministries, evangelist Earlene Evans of Apostolic Faith Temple, evangelist Doris Carter of McGuffey Center, minister Andrea Flakes of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, Evelyn London of New Vision Baptist Church, Ruth Parker of Fellowship Baptist Church and minister Tanya Payne of Holy Bible Church of God. Guest artist will be Daddy’s Girl. The Rev. Gwen Alexander is Solid Rock pastor.
Celebrating ministry
AUSTINTOWN — First Free Will Baptist Church, 5530 New Road, will celebrate 43 years of ministry during Homecoming Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 21. The Rev. Carl Dunn of Waverly will speak and the Gospel quartet, One Less Stone, will be featured. The group received first-place awards in the 2005 National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Ky., and the 2006 Southern Gospel Music Fan Fair in Chattanooga, Tenn. follow in the church pavilion.

Memorial program
YOUNGSTOWN — Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will hold a memorial program at 4 p.m. Sunday for church members who have died this year. Of special note will be the late Howard Wilkins, a trustee, who was an 80-year church member. Speaker will be the Rev. Walter Gillespie of Faith Temple Baptist Church in Campbell.

Guest minister
HERMITAGE, Pa. — Pastor Onesimo Roman Torres will minister at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Living Word Church, 1109 E. State St. For 19 years, he has been the pastor at Church of the Spring of Life in Pachuca, Mexico.
Operation Capital City-Mexico, a ministry of Living Word Church, has visited cities in the country to pray for targeted areas including government, education, marketplace, media and spiritual centers. Pastor Carol Missik, senior pastor at the Hermitage church and project director of Operation Capital City, has ministered at Pastor Torres’ church. A luncheon will follow the service.

Women’s Day meeting
YOUNGSTOWN — Full Gospel Soul Saving Station, 502 Oak Hill Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 with speaker, the Rev. Dr. Wilhelmina Carter, district elder and pastor of Christ Soul Saving Station in Duquesne, Pa. Refreshments will follow the service.

Grief support group
LIBERTY — Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road, will offer Grief Share, a nondenominational grief recovery support group that uses biblical teachings. There will be afternoon and evening groups meeting for 13 weekly sessions. Sessions will start at 1 p.m. Thursday and the other at 7 p.m. Sept. 23, both at the church.
