Royals earn rain-delayed 8-3 win over Indians

CLEVELAND (AP) — Zack Greinke pitched six solid innings to help the Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians 8-3 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Rain delayed the start 2 hours, 14 minutes and an intermittent drizzle fell throughout in the makeup of a rainout from May 2. It was supposed to be a day-night doubleheader, but there wasn’t too much time between games with the rain delay.

Ross Gload and Alberto Callaspo each had two hits and two RBIs for the Royals. Mark Teahen had three hits, improving his career average against Cleveland to .321 (60-for-187).
