Mellinger-Golec engagement is being announced

• AUSTINTOWN — Brenda Sue Mellinger and Michael F. Golec Jr., both of Austintown, are announcing their engagement and plans for their upcoming marriage.

The bride-elect, a daughter of Larry and Judie Mellinger of Columbiana, is a corporal with Goshen Township Police Department, Salem. She graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University with a degree in criminal justice.

The prospective groom, who attended YSU, is a sergeant with Goshen Township Police Department. He is a son of the late Francine Golec, who had lived in Austintown.

The couple have chosen Nov. 1 for their 2:30 p.m. wedding at the Village Church on Canfield Fairgrounds. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and for their evening reception at Avion on the Water, Canfield.
