YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is inviting the public to take a free tour though history in downtown Youngstown on Sunday.

The society is planning a new Mahoning Valley History Center to be located in the historic Burt Building at 325 W. Federal St. and will hold an open house there from 1 to 4 p.m.

It’s the site where the Good Humor ice cream bar was originally produced.

There will be historical games and crafts, food and ice cream, entertainment and walking tours of the downtown area.

The society has organized The Campaign for the Mahoning Valley History Center to raise $6 million to restore the landmark building and develop a history center there.

The schedule of open house events includes Jocko the Clown at 1 p.m., storyteller Jocelyn Dabney at 2 and 3 p.m. and The Youngstown Connection at 3:30 p.m.
