Fire at 1414 Atkinson a total loss

YOUNGSTOWN — Heavy smoke was showing when firefighters arrived at 1414 Atkinson Ave. on the East Side late Thursday night. The house appeared to be occupied but no one was home at 9:30 p.m. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage to the structure and contents was set at $12,500, a total loss. One firefighter reported a burn to his ear.
