Jail changes

Columbiana County Jail, run by Community Education Centers, a private company, has issued a report on some of the changes it has made since four prisoners escaped. They were captured within a day, and no one was injured.

Crawl space entrances have been covered with heavy metal.

Roof hatches have been secured.

New security locks will be installed on the doors of maintenance closets, such as the one used by the escaped prisoners, according to authorities.

Additional training on counting, security inspections and staff was ordered.
