Homes lost to fires
YOUNGSTOWN — The vacant house at 1701 Richmond Ave. on the East Side was deliberately set on fire around 1:45 a.m. today, the fire department said.
For safety reasons, the structure was allowed to burn down. Damage was set at $10,000, a total loss.
Late Wednesday night, the vacant house at 405 Williamson Ave. on the South Side was destroyed by fire, reports show. Firefighters found the front door wide open when arrived just before 9 p.m. and the first floor fully engulfed in flames.
Damage was set at $10,500, a total loss.
