Columbiana Co.’s 911 system online

LISBON — The Columbiana County’s 911 system is up and working.

The formal dedication and first official call went through without a hitch today.

Robert Emmons, director of the county’s 911 program, had the call displayed on a wall inside the Emergency Management Agency building here that showed what dispatchers will see when they receive a call.

There are five official 911 answering points in the county: Salem, East Palestine, Columbiana, East Liverpool and the sheriff’s office.
