HUBBARD

Sept. 6

Possible burglary: A Belle Vista Avenue man reported someone may have tried to break into his garage.

Attempted auto theft: Someone tried to steal a vehicle in the 600 block of North Main Street.

Burglary: A Grandview Avenue woman reported her keys missing and finding a slit on a screen door.

Sept. 7

Domestic violence: Officers charged a Christian Avenue man after his son called 911 to report his dad may have beaten up the caller’s mother.

Sept. 8

Fraud: A Maple Ridge Road man found out another man improperly changed his address at the post office to that of the accuser’s.

Theft: A Hubbard woman reported a theft at her residence.

Sept. 9

Recovered property: An official with Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported recovering a stolen Blackberry device.

LIBERTY

Sept. 6

Weapon: Authorities observed a suspicious vehicle on Gypsy Lane and arrested a 22-year-old Youngstown man wanted in Boardman on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic violence. He also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and endangering children, a third-degree felony, when, police said, a loaded revolver was in a bag close to two children in the backseat.

Theft: The driver of a white Ford vehicle pumped $51.44 worth of gasoline and left a Unimart station, 2703 Belmont Ave., without paying.

Sept. 7

Forgery: The owner of a Trumbull Avenue business alleged a 29-year-old Mineral Ridge man pretended to be an employee to sell a substandard product, then forged the owner’s name to cash a check from the sale.

Theft: A man, 25 to 35, stole $80 worth of cigarettes from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A Scott Lane woman told authorities another woman, 40, threatened to kill the accuser after an argument with the 40-year-old’s daughter.

Menacing: A Roosevelt Drive woman reported her former boyfriend threatened to harm her.

Drugs: While responding to a report of an erratic driver near Colonial Drive, officers arrested a Youngstown woman, 50, in the 200 block and charged her with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, as well as several traffic violations. Found in the vehicle was a white powder that tested positive for heroin, the report said.

Theft: A Dade Street woman reported her wallet stolen from her residence, and found out a Visa card was used without consent.

Assault: A Tuttle Drive man who tried to break up a fight reported a Girard man, 27, grabbed him by the throat and made threats.

Sept. 8

Theft: A Laurel Street man reported the theft of OxyCodone tablets and other medications from his home.

Criminal damaging: A driver deliberately ran over a plastic safety barrier near Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way. Damage came to $100.

Sept. 9

Aggravated menacing: A Belmont Avenue man told police his brother pointed a gun at the accuser during an argument and fled to a wooded area nearby.

Theft: A Marla Lane woman reported two puppies stolen from her porch, for an estimated $1,200 loss.

Theft: A worker for a Belmont Avenue business reported her purse stolen while on break.

GIRARD

Sept. 8

Aggravated menacing: Charges of aggravated menacing and violating a court order were pending against a Niles man, 28, after a Washington Avenue woman told police her husband left three threatening phone messages, on one of which he threatened to kill her.

Theft/assault: A Trumbull Avenue boy reported a 19-year-old Girard man pushed the accuser out of a residence and assaulted him before taking the boy’s $75 pair of tennis shoes.

Sept. 9

Breaking and entering: A man discovered someone forced open a door to a vacant residence in the 500 block of East Prospect Street before removing from the basement 250 feet of copper piping.

Arrest: A Girard man, 43, was charged with disorderly conduct after officers received a report of an intoxicated man. Despite having been advised several times to go home, the man was yelling, prompting a 911 call, the report said.

Theft: A Girard woman reported a validation sticker was removed from her car.

Aggravated menacing: A Churchill Road woman told officers her former boyfriend threatened over the phone to shoot her and burn down her residence.

Criminal damaging: An East Howard Street man reported three males threw a bottle at his vehicle on South State Street, striking its driver’s side door.
