9/11 ceremonies Today in the Valley
Cardinal Joint Fire District, seventh annual Patriot Day Ceremony, 7 p.m. on the Canfield Village Green. Austintown Fire Department will join the Cardinal district for the ceremony. Youngstown Police Honor Guards will also attend. Keynote speech by John Stoll, an FBI senior supervisory resident agent.
Austintown Quaker Steak and Lube, 7 p.m. Austintown Fitch High School color guard will present the colors, and Kerri Minenok, a student at the Youngstown State University Dana School of Music, will sing the national anthem. Pastor Lou Scalzo of Highway Tabernacle Church will give the invocation. Displays for the Army, Navy, Austintown police and fire departments, and others. Warren Fire Department, tribute to those who died, 8:30 a.m. at the Central Fire Station, 111 South St. S.E.
Bible Baptist Temple, 230 Lettie Ave., Campbell, 6:45 p.m. patriotic service in remembrance of the first responders. Chaplain Alan Farley, a Civil War historian, will speak. The Dave Whalen family will offer music.
