Valley Legacy luncheon ticket deadline set

AUSTINTOWN — Civic-minded seniors will be recognized for their dedication to the Mahoning Valley and senior advocacy efforts at the Valley Legacy Awards Luncheon scheduled for Oct. 7 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8587 Market St., Boardman. Eighteen seniors have been nominated for the Outstanding Senior and Outstanding Advocate for Seniors awards. The presenter will be Rich Morgan, WKBN weatherman.

Christian Women plan Country Fair meeting

YOUNGSTOWN — The theme for the Thursday meeting of Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club will be “Good Ole Country Fair” and it will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 217 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Marty Campana will conduct a live auction and Linda Ramsey of Beckley, W.Va., will speak on “Never Say Never!.”

Ski club schedules tour of wineries

CHAMPION— The Good Times Ski and Snowboard Club is sponsoring a bus tour to the Chautauqua Lake Erie Winery Trail from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 20. Those participating will visit four wineries for free tasting and have a gourmet lunch. The cost is $65 and includes transportation, tours, tasting and lunch.

Teens invited to rally at Sts. Peter and Paul

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youth Ministry of Sts. Peter and Paul and Our Lady of Hungary parishes invites local teens of all faiths, who attend grades 9 through 12, to a night of free food, fun and friendship at 5 p.m. Sept. 20 at the social hall, 421 Covington St., near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Rayen Avenue. There will be several speakers.
