• HUBBARD — The gazebo at Julia’s Bed and Breakfast provided the setting for the June 7 wedding of Jillian Nicole Volpi, a daughter of Ron and Kary Volpi, 4342 Bazetta Road, Cortland, and Richard William Thomas, son of David and Susan Thomas, 1958 Timber Creek Drive, Cortland.

The couple exchanged vows during a 12:30 p.m. ceremony in the presence of the Rev. Rick Oaks and accepted congratulations afterward during a garden reception.

The bride wore a white satin ball gown enhanced with satin ribbon, and she held a bouquet of yellow daisies.

The honor attendant, Amy Smialek of Strongsville, wore a light lemon yellow gown.

The duties of best man were performed by Joe Vescera of Cortland, and serving as ushers were Chad Volpi of Akron, a brother of the bride, and Clint Thomas of Tampa, Fla., and Dan Thomas of Cortland, brothers of the groom.

A summa cum laude graduate of Baldwin Wallace College in Berea with a bachelor’s degree, the bride is a graphic designer with Oakhurst Marketing in Clearwater, Fla.

The groom, a geologist with J-2 Engineering in Tampa, graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree.

The couple live in Tampa.
