Girard teen reports being shot at while riding his bike

GIRARD — Police are investigating a shooting reported by a Girard High School student today.

According to police reports, the 16-year-old student told officers he and a friend were riding bikes in Liberty Park on Monday, then rode past the East Liberty Street home of a 23-year-old man who accused the teen of having his brother arrested. The boy told officers the man chased him with a small handgun and fired several times.

No one was injured. The shooting was not reported until the boy went to school this morning.
