• VFW Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will have a Chinese raffle at noon Sept. 21 after its bimonthly breakfast. Items donated by area merchants will be displayed and tickets will be sold during the following: the auxiliary’s spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, POW ceremony with flag burning at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19, and breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 21.

• North Bloomfield Town Hall, routes 45 and 87, will have a western square and line dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The cost of $5 for adults and $4 for children under 11 includes a meal. • Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Ave., Austintown, is having its second annual Fall Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. A bounce-around, climbing wall, pony rides, petting zoo, games, face painting and karaoke will be featured. There will also be a Chinese auction, bake sale and food.

• The East Palestine Rotary Club will sponsor its third annual Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at the East Palestine City Park. The fee to set up is $10. • Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, is having its fourth annual Treasures in Your Trunk and Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20. Early registration is $10; cost is $15 per vehicle the day of the event. There will be no refunds. A bake sale, hot dog and soda sale and 50-50 raffle are planned, and crafters are welcome. • Women of New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, will sponsor a fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday (lunch is available both days) and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Friday will be half-price day on rummage only, and Saturday will be $1-per bag day.
• Day Circle of Southington United Methodist Church, routes 305 and 534, will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Homemade soup, sandwiches, drinks and desserts will be served for lunch; carryouts will be available. A bag day is planned from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
SPECIAL EVENTS
• The Salem Memorial Building will have its first Fall Indoor Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 in the gym. All day, there will be old-fashioned concession prices: 50 cents each for hot dogs, pop and snacks. Reservations are being taken now to reserve an 8-foot table with chairs. Donation is $5 per space. All items are subject to approval. Mail in a donation for space reservation to Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460, and a confirmation will be mailed back. • Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women's and children's clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
