Chaney grad receives leadership degree

Denise Grace Lindheim, daughter of Dominic and Sally Grace of Canfield, and a 1982 graduate of Chaney High School, recently received her doctorate in organizational leadership and human resource management from NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

In addition to her doctorate in education, she also has a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from NOVA and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education comprehensive social studies from Youngstown State University.

She has been an instructor at Pine Ridge, Oak Ridge and East Naples middle schools.

She has been assistant principal and principal at St. Ann’s Elementary School in Naples, Fla., and dean of curriculum and instruction at Gulf Coast High School.

Lindheim is a human resource administrator for instructional staffing with the district school board of Collier County in Naples.

She lives in Naples with her husband, Kevin, and their three children, Kevin John, Lindsey and Mitchel.

YSU grad earns degree in mathematics from KSU

Thomas Wakefield, son of Robert and RoseMary Wakefied of Youngstown, has earned his doctorate in pure mathematics from Kent State University.

Wakefield earned his bachelor’s degrees in economics and mathematics from Youngstown State University, and received his master’s degree in math from KSU.

Wakefield and his wife, Andrea, live in Slippery Rock, Pa., where he has accepted a teaching position at Slippery Rock University.

Austintown grad earns degree in dental surgery

Jennifer Lynne Thomas Gerbasi, daughter of Vincent and Rosemary Thomas of Austintown, has earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry.

Dr. Gerbasi, an Austintown Fitch High School graduate, earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Youngstown State University and also received an associate degree in dental hygiene from YSU.

She is a staff member of Lima Dental Associates in Lima, Ohio. Dr. Gerbasi and her husband, Bryan, a registered nurse, live in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
