‘SCHINDLER’S LIST’ Free screenings

In conjunction with the Schindler exhibition at the steel museum, the Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival will offer two free screenings of the 1993 film “Schindler’s List.”

The Steven Spielberg film, which won Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director, presents the story of Oskar Schindler, the Nazi war profiteer who saved 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust. It stars Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes.

Show times are 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center on the Youngstown State University campus; and at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the James Gallery of Kilcawley.

“We’re showing it at the university, because although the film has been around a while, younger people might not have seen it,” said Myra Benedikt of the Jewish film festival.
