YOUNGSTOWN — Two men have been indicted in the drive-by shooting death of 19-year-old Sirtan Alli.

A Mahoning County grand jury returned the indictment Thursday against D’Von Walls of Halls Heights and Robert Floyd Jr. of Atkinson Avenue. Both are 18.

Both are charged with aggravated murder with a firearm specification.

If convicted, they face life in prison.

Alli, of McGuffey Road, was found at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 20 on the sidewalk at McGuffey near Cassius Street on the East Side and died later that day at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He had been shot in the back of the head.

A 9mm handgun with 11 rounds in the magazine was found on the sidewalk between the victim’s legs.

When interviewed at the jail on Aug. 25, Walls told police he and Floyd had exchanged gunfire with Alli, reports show. Walls said he later threw a gun into a sewer somewhere on Dryden Avenue.

A search of the sewer didn’t turn up a gun, but police did find a 31‚Ñ2-foot alligator that was taken by Dave Nelson, an Ohio nuisance trapper.
