staff report
BOARDMAN — Preston Morgan’s one wish is to visit Disney World in Orlando, Fla., and the Make-A-Wish Foundation is trying to make that happen.
Preston, 8, of Austintown, is battling leukemia. He was chosen as the honorary wish child for a Sunday event, A Global Tapas Affair, to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Youngstown office.
The event will be from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Springfield Grille, 7413 Tiffany South, in Youngstown.
The outdoor event will feature an all-you-can-eat spread, live music, door prizes and valet parking.
A silent auction will also be held throughout the evening with many items donated by local vendors.
Tickets for the event are $100 and include three drinks. All proceeds go to the foundation to make sure the wishes of Preston and other children like him come true.
This year, Make-A-Wish in Youngstown will work to fulfill the wishes of 800 local children, according to the local chapter.
For more information about the event, call Danette Palmer, development officer at (330) 965-9085, or to purchase tickets, contact Springfield Grille at (330) 726-0895.
