AKRON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL Timeline
Akron Children’s Hospital’s first presence in the Mahoning Valley was in 2002 with the establishment of its Heart Center in Boardman. Here are other moves since then:
2003: Pediatric orthopedic and pulmonology services added to the Boardman office.
2005: Formed affiliation agreement with Humility of Mary Health Partners.
2006: St. Elizabeth pediatric staff members became Akron Children’s employees.
2007: Moved the Heart Center and pediatric specialties to the Boardman Medical Pavilion on the St. Elizabeth Boardman campus.
Began operating the Tri-County Child Advocacy Center at 1350 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
Affiliated with Dr. Ayman Saleh and the Children’s Care Center for Blood and Cancer.
Agreed with HMHP to purchase Beeghly Medical Center from Forum Health and create a pediatric hospital there.
