“Stand Up to Cancer” (8 p.m., NBC, ABC and CBS): Christina Applegate, who recently underwent a double mastectomy, is among the many stars appearing in “Stand Up to Cancer,” a fund-raiser for cancer research. Among the other celebrities lending a hand are Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker, David Cook and Scarlett Johansson.
“Samurai Girl” (8 p.m., ABC Family): “Samurai Girl” is an action-packed, fantasy-sparked miniseries that follows the transformation of 19-year-old Heaven Kogo from her sheltered status as the daughter of a powerful father in Japan to a samurai in a quest for justice. Heaven’s life takes its shocking turn during her nuptials in San Francisco — an arranged marriage to the son of her father’s business associate. In the midst of the ceremony, a band of ninjas attack, intent on kidnapping her. She manages to flee. But after that, she must take a new, uncharted path: Evading her pursuers and uncovering the ancient prophecy that put her in harm’s way. Starring Jamie Chung (“I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”), the six-hour “Samurai Girl” airs tonight, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. It also stars Brendan Fehr (“Roswell”) as Heaven’s newfound ally Jake, as well as Kyle Labine and Stacy Keibler.
