Polish Day event planned at Beaver Township park

BEAVER. — The Youngstown Polish community is hosting Polish Day from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at Woodworth Park, on Luther Avenue off Western Reserve Road in Beaver Township.

The outdoor event will feature the best of Polish culture, such as ethnic food; baked goods; craft demonstrations and workshops from 1 to 3 p.m.; a marketplace selling ethnic merchandise; folk dance performances by Krakowiaki Polish Circle and Syrena from Cleveland; polka lessons and demonstrations; and a polka band, the Polkatones, from Canton. Also featured will be a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle.

The event is open to the public, and admission is free.

Proceeds will benefit the Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle new costume fund and the Polish Arts Club of Youngstown.
