Boardman 1, Lake 0

UNIONTOWN — Boardman freshmen Matt Horvatich scored the only goal of the game off an assist by Christian Silvestri with nine minutes remaining left in a Federal League game. The Spartans (1-2-1, 1-0-1 FL) had six shots on goal, compared to 11 for the Blue Streaks (2-2-1, 1-1). Garrett Pancake had 11 saves for Boardman. Will Shultz had five saves for Lake. JVs: Lake 2-0.

Poland 4, Warren JFK 1

POLAND — Taylor Malaniak scored two goals while Andrew McElroy and Dan Hunt had one for the Bulldogs (4-1-0). Ryan Rovnak made two assists while Matt Mrozek and Ryan Storkel had one each. Goalkeeper Cooper Kostelic made three saves for the Eagles (3-2-1), Abdul Aal scored and goalkeeper Jeff Fulmeier made 17 stops.

West Branch 3, Marlington 1

Caleb Capron scored twice and added an assist on Aaron Lamancusa’s goal to lead West Branch (5-0). Chance Young had eight saves for the Warriors, who got an assist from Brian Snoddy. Chad Dickerhoff scored for Marlington and Michael McDermott had eight saves.

Girls

Liberty 4, Struthers 0

STRUTHERS — Kacey Kurtz scored two goals for the Leopards (3-2). Madison Hunkus scored a goal and made an assist. Allison House netted the other goal. Goalkeeper Lisee Ryeeb made nine saves. Struthers (0-4) goalkeeper Kayla Kusky made eight stops.

Springfield 7, South Range 1

NORTH LIMA — The Tigers (5-0) got four goals and an assist from Alexis Zubick, while Allyson Berry scored three goals and had two assists. Breanne Micher had two assists and Hannah Chapella and Amber Uscianowski each had one assist. Heather Cocak had 12 saves. South Range’s (2-1-1) Abbey Ausnehmer scored a goal of an assist from Emily Meals. Kristin Robinson had 18 saves.

Youngstown Christian 3, Ursuline 3

AUSTINTOWN — Rena Hinebaugh had an unassisted goal to lift Ursuline to a tie with Youngstown Christian at Highway Tabernacle field. Jordyn Balas and Katie Young each added a goal for the Irish (0-[5-1). Rashida Strozier, Ashley Gonda and Shanve Wall each scored a goal for Youngstown Christian (0-3-3) while Christy Hartman had an assist. Ursuline goalie Briana Curd had 16 saves. Youngstown Christian goalie Kaitlyn Vestal had 23 saves.
