CANFIELD

Aug. 26

Illegal dumping: An employee at Central Facilities, 519 N. Broad St., reported to police that a Youngstown individual had dumped several garbage bags in the company trash bin there at the business. The materials included personal papers such as a bank statement and pharmacy information, enabling the perpetrator to be identified.

Aug. 28

Theft: From the garage and backyard of a home on North Broad Street.

Falsification: A male passenger was arrested for giving a false name and ID during a traffic stop at East Main Street and Hillside Drive.

Aug. 30

Drug abuse: A 22-year-old Warren man was arrested for driving under suspension and his 25-year-old female passenger, also from Warren, for wrongful entrustment for letting him drive. A third Warren man, 42, was called to drive the same vehicle and he was arrested on drug abuse charges after police noticed the smell of marijuana coming from his car and found marijuana in the vehicle.

AUSTINTOWN

Aug. 25

Disorderly conduct: A man was arrested for disorderly conduct at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: A passenger-side window was broken on an automobile and a DVD player and six-inch viewing screens were stolen at a home in the 1000 block of Cavalcade Drive.

Breaking and entering: The door glass on the south side of Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, was broken out, and an attempt was made to open a safe.

Aggravated robbery: A suspect was discovered in a home in the 3000 block of Crum Road by the homeowner but got away. Warrants were issued for a male suspect.

Burglary: Drugs and other items were stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at ITT Technical Institute, 1030 N. Meridian Road.

Fraud: A Visa check card was accessed and overcharged at a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Personal injury: A loose dog injured a child at a home in the 300 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Menacing: A foster child was making threats at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Aug. 26

Attempted theft: A window was broken but nothing was stolen from an auto at carports in the 100 block of Paisley Street.

Menacing: A female was menacing a male at Polaris Tech, 500 Victoria Road.

Bad checks: A woman was arrested for passing bad checks at Interstate 80 and Salt Springs Road.

Attempted fraud: An attempt was made to get a credit card in the victim’s name at a home in the 100 block of South Main Street.

Criminal damaging: A concrete lawn ornament was broken at a home in the 6000 block of South Timberidge Drive.

Theft: A Youngstown man was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A door was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of Moorefield Avenue.

Drug offense: A Niles man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, rolling papers and marijuana, and issued two summonses at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Aug. 27

Theft: A man was issued a summons for stealing food at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Spray-paint damage was done to the south side of a residence in the 3000 block of Rebecca Drive.

Theft: A Graco baby stroller was stolen from a home in the 700 block of Oberlin Place by a woman in a cream-colored vehicle.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a victim’s account at a home in the 2000 block of South Turner Road.

Theft: A GPS system was stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 6000 block of Ruby Court.

Telecommunications harassment: A prank caller was using profane language in calls to an apartment in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Aug. 28

Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto at a home in the 100 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A stolen check for $365 was cashed at First Place Bank, 4390 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: A Girard man was issued a summons for a drug offense at Meridian and Crum roads on charges of possession of marijuana and dangerous drugs.

Theft: A copper ground bar and wire were stolen from Verizon Wireless Station, 6512 Kirk Road.

Aug. 29

Criminal trespassing: A woman was arrested for trespassing at EconoLodge, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.

Confiscated plates: A man’s license plates were confiscated at Mahoning Avenue and Raccoon Road.

Aggravated menacing: An unidentified male caller was making menacing calls to a home in the 3000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Theft: A 2008 Transcraft trailer was stolen from Fyda Freightliner, 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Burglary: Copper pipe was stolen from a home in the 100 block of North Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: A male suspect was menacing a male victim at Sav-A-Step, 4226 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Three female shoplifters were arrested at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., then taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Aug. 30

Criminal damaging: A drive-through window was broken at McQuaid’s gas station, 5160 Mahoning Ave.

Aug. 31

Theft: A 53-foot box trailer containing more than 42,540 pounds of copper bars was stolen at the end of the road at 5456 Clarkins Drive.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken at a home in the 5000 block of West Rockwell Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle hood was dented and the paint was damaged along with the windshield being broken out in the side yard of a home in the 100 block of North Yorkshire Boulevard.

Theft from auto: A rear Ohio license plate was stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Bomb threat: A female caller made a bomb threat at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave., but a search by police did not turn up a bomb.
