No foul play suspected in boy’s death
YOUNGSTOWN — Foul play is not suspected in the death this morning of a 1-month-old West Side boy, said Capt. Kenneth Centorame, chief of detectives. Anthony M. Chiovitti of Eleanor Avenue, who was born Aug. 1, could not be resuscitated by paramedics called to the house by police who were first on the scene around 7:50 a.m. The baby’s 21-year-old mother fed him at 4 a.m. and then both fell asleep when she placed him on her chest, Centorame said. The baby’s grandmother found them side by side on the bedroom floor and called for help after noticing his blue coloring. It’s possible the mother rolled over on the baby, Centorame said, adding that the cause of death will be determined by the coroner.
