• Tri-County Chapter of Medical Assistants will have their regular meeting Tuesday at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on Palmyra Road in Canfield. The speaker will be Stan Guzell, who will explain “Participatory Management” promptly at 7 p.m. in the lecture room. One CEU will be awarded.

LEAGUES

• Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Glenellen on Market Street. The league is open to women over 18 who reside in the tri-state area and have an interest in community involvement. • Girard Knights of Columbus Men will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall, 122 S. State St.

• Girard K. of C. 2935 Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the club hall. Members are reminded to take two cans of evaporated milk for the Emmanuel House Thanksgiving Basket.

• Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Altar and Rosary Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the parish center. A program of inspirational music will be presented by Cheri Manners. Members are asked to take wrapped candy donations for a Thanksgiving program.

• McDonald Knights of Columbus will meet at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the K. of C. Hall, Illinois Avenue.

• Mothers of the Crucifix Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown will meet at 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the lower church hall. Elizabeth Mirone will preside, and plans for the Christmas party will be discussed. Refreshments will be served.

• The Altar Guild of St. Michael Church , Canfield, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the parish center. Rosary at 7 p.m. in the church will precede the meeting, and Pat Hoyle will preside. A Marine from Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna will collect members’ donations of new, unwrapped gifts for donation to Toys for Tots. The hostesses are Cookie Dwyer and Diana Vaccaro. SINGLES

• Single for Any Reason has planned the following events: Saturday, dance to Road Work Band and eat at Butler Fire Association in East Butler, Pa., from 7 to 10 p.m.; Sunday, bowling at Cortland Lanes, 3684 Warren-Meadville Road, at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, vote; Wednesday, eat at Cleat’s Club Seat Grille in Warren at 6:30 p.m. with meeting to follow; Nov. 7, take snacks and play cards; and Nov. 8, dance to Road Work Band at Avon Oaks in Girard from 8 to 11 p.m., cost is $7. • Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Girard Library, and will have an annual dinner that evening at St. Mark Church, 3560 Logan Way, Liberty. Following the 6 p.m. social time, dinner will be served at 7. The donation is $25. There will be drawings for cash, a quilt and other prizes. An annual calendar sale is being conducted.
