GIRARD

Oct. 28

Aggravated menacing: A woman told officers a 30-year-old Warren man came to her mother’s West Second Street residence and threatened to blow up the accuser’s vehicle and the mother’s residence as part of a feud. The woman also accused the man of threatening her with a large butcher knife, though police said they found no weapon in the man’s possession.

Theft: A Smith Court woman discovered several medications and jewelry missing from her home.

Burglary: A woman moving from her residence in the 400 block of North State Street discovered someone had entered through a side window and ransacked the home before taking a $100 DVD player and roughly 30 DVDs.

LIBERTY

Oct. 24

Theft: A man in his 30s driving a gray Oldsmobile left a Uni-Mart station, 2703 Belmont Ave., without paying for $38 worth of gasoline.

Oct. 25

Burglary: A Scott Lane man reported an Xbox game console, 20 DVDs, three fishing poles and tackle missing after someone had entered.

Auto theft: Authorities arrested a Youngstown man, 45, on a felony charge of receiving stolen property after conducting a vehicle registration check in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive and determining the car had been stolen in Youngstown.

Fraud: A Gypsy Lane man told police that while in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue, two men in a white van defrauded him of $600 by intimidating him and pressuring the accuser into buying two speakers he said were substandard.

Auto theft: An East Liberty Street woman reported the theft of her 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Theft/criminal damaging: A James Lane man discovered damage to his car’s steering column and door lock after someone had broken in and stolen a $1,250 laptop computer.

Oct. 26

Theft: A Louise Lane woman told police a $100 propane grill had been removed from her patio.

Burglary: A man in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue found his front door had been kicked open, and that two DVDs and a video game were stolen.

Drugs: Officers charged a 19-year-old Wellsville man with drug abuse after responding to possible drug activity in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue, and saying he had a suspected marijuana cigar.

Assault: A Girard woman, 19, faced charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after authorities responded to a disturbance at a Liberty Avenue home. The teen grabbed an officer by the throat, continued to use profanities and failed to cooperate, the report said.

Criminal damaging: A Pleasant Valley Road man noticed paint damage to his vehicle after someone had thrown pumpkins at the car, causing an estimated $500 worth of damage.

Identity fraud: A Scott Lane woman told police she received an $86 bill from a Visa account she had never opened, as well as a call from a business advising her to make payments on a $3,152 credit-card account that wasn’t hers.

Oct. 27

Theft: Two students at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, noticed one cell phone each missing from their gym bags.

Breaking and entering: Police discovered the front door at Schultz’s Oil & Gas, 6470 Belmont Ave., had been pried open. Missing were several packs of cigarettes and coins.

Oct. 29

Theft: A Euclid Boulevard woman reported an engagement ring and wedding ring missing from her residence.

HUBBARD

Oct. 24

Theft: A worker with a Speedway gas station, 806 W. Liberty St., reported two boys likely stole alcohol and a pair of sunglasses.

Oct. 25

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown-Hubbard Road woman noticed that her car’s gas tank cap had been tampered with.

Theft: Two boys, 16 and 17, were detained but not charged after store personnel said they tried to steal items, including ice cream bars, from Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.

Oct. 27

Theft: Officers arrested a woman, no information given, after getting a report of a shoplifter at Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save.

Domestic violence: A 37-year-old Hubbard man was charged after being accused of striking his mother.

Theft: A Hubbard man was accused of stealing someone’s MP3 player while at the Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St.

Attempted burglary: A Caroline Avenue woman discovered someone had tried to enter her home when she noticed a broken door jamb.
