Teen wins division in nationals pageant


INDEPENDENCE — Lesley Koch of Boardman won her division, Miss Junior Teen, in the Nationals 2008 Akron Pageant competition Oct. 25 at the Independence Middle School.

She competed against other 13-to-15-year-olds in modeling routines, including casual and formal wear, and she displayed her personality and interviewing skills.

Lesley is to receive a cash prize and specialty gifts. She will receive an expense-paid trip to Orlando, Fla., to represent Akron and the surrounding communities at the Cities of America National Competition on Dec. 9 through 14.

There she will compete for a share of the more than $60,000 in prizes and awards.

Lesley is the daughter of David and Peggy Koch of Boardman. She is a freshman at Boardman High School, where she is involved in the orchestra, cheerleading, Key Club, track and the Latin Club.
