Oct. 22

Breaking and entering: A man arrived at his home in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue to find an open garage door and several items disturbed.

Robbery: A Youngstown woman had a scrape on her right leg after someone sneaked up, grabbed her purse and fled while she was at a Boardman-Poland Road business.

Burglary/damage: A Westview Drive woman discovered a side door had been kicked in and her son’s computer stolen. She also found damage to her truck’s steering column, apparently after someone tried to steal the vehicle.

Robbery: Police, with the help of U.S. marshals, took into custody a 27-year-old Youngstown man on a warrant charging him. A Youngstown woman suffered an injury after someone stole her purse on U.S. Route 224.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant Crestline Place residence via the front door and took three cable boxes, a painting and 200 toy action figures.

Theft: An Austintown woman, 34, was charged in the theft of 12 articles of clothing from T.J. Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A man reported the theft of a $270 necklace pendant from his car while at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A man and a woman stole two jackets valued at a total of $200 from a Southern Park Mall store.

Theft: After $435 worth of merchandise was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall, a 22-year-old Girard man was charged.

Assault: A woman told police a teacher at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., assaulted her son. The boy accused the teacher of choking and forcing him against a wall after a verbal dispute between the accuser and another student.

Theft: A Struthers man, 26, faced a felony count after a Youngstown woman reported her purse stolen from a shopping cart at a South Avenue store.

Oct. 23

Theft: Two males removed a vehicle’s rear taillight in the 4200 block of Simon Road.

Identity theft: A Silver Fox Drive woman told police she gave personal information to a suspicious male caller claiming to be with the Social Security Administration.

Arrest: After pulling over a vehicle near Shields Road for speeding, officers arrested a Niles man, 49, wanted in that city on a charge of failing to appear in court on a zoning violation.

Misuse of a credit card: A Tomball, Texas, man discovered his credit card had been used without consent to make around $449 worth of purchases from two township businesses.

Theft: An $80 pair of shoes was stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Vandalism: Someone broke a window near a vestibule and damaged two mailboxes at Oasis Commercial Cleaning Service Inc., 4715 Market St.

Oct. 24

Stolen property: Two Boardman men, 18 and 19, were arrested after police said a solar light and political signs were removed from yards in the 8100 block of Glenwood Avenue. One man was charged with receiving stolen property, the other with criminal mischief.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window was broken at the Southern Park Mall. Damage was estimated a $225.

Auto theft: A Poland man’s 1998 Ford Contour was stolen as he shopped at an East Midlothian Boulevard store.

Theft: Someone stole two purses, two pairs of shoes and children’s clothing from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Boardman boy, 12, was charged, accused of taking a $10 bracelet from Spencer Gifts in the Southern Park Mall.

Assault: A Youngstown boy told police he was knocked to the ground and struck while near the Southern Park Mall’s food court area.

Damage: A Tamarisk Trail man noticed someone had cut a cable wire at his residence.

Misuse of a credit card: A Hubbard woman found two unauthorized charges totaling about $163 that had been made from a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Misuse of a credit card: A Poland woman discovered seven transactions totaling $2,202 that had been made without permission from her bank on Youngstown-Poland Road.

Theft: An undisclosed sum of money was missing from a cash register at a Southern Park Mall restaurant.

Theft: A Lemans Drive woman saw that a $36 unauthorized transaction had been made with her debit card.

Oct. 25

Bad check: Authorities took custody of a 26-year-old Niles woman wanted on a felony charge of passing a bad check. She was accused of passing a $2,238 check at Carpet & Tile Liquidators, 6224 South Ave., that was drawn on a closed account.

Theft: Three men left Perkins Family Restaurant, 804 Boardman-Poland Road, without paying a $15.74 food bill.

Domestic violence: A 26-year-old Boardman man was charged after a woman alleged her boyfriend placed his elbow to her neck and threw her into a wall during an argument.
