Trumbull County 4-H recognizes volunteers
CORTLAND — Trumbull County 4-H program had its annual volunteer recognition banquet recently.
Every year, three honors are given to volunteers who are nominated by 4-H families.
This year’s 4-H Alumni Award winner is Marci Helberg of Burghill, who has been a 4-H adviser for 11 years and spent most of her childhood in Trumbull 4-H.
The Meritorious Service Award went to Mike Barto of Burghill, for outstanding service through short-term dedication or in a specific area of youth work.
The Distinguished Service award is for someone who has shown superior dedication to 4-H. This year’s award winner is Norma Duff of Cortland. She has been a volunteer for 21 years and has worn many hats.
Corvette Club donates funds to museum
WARREN — Shenango Valley Corvette Club recently donated the proceeds from its annual Corvette and Classic Car Show at Greenwood Hubbard Chevrolet Dealership to the National Packard Museum, which participated in the show by displaying eight Packard automobiles from 1936 to 1956.
Formed in 1985, the Corvette Club meets the first Sunday of each month in the Founders Room at Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce in Sharon, Pa. The approximately 120 members not only share a passion for Corvettes, but also organize and participate in many philanthropic, social and civic events.
The club is dedicated to supporting many local charities, including Mercer County Children’s Aid Society, Hermitage Goodfellows, the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross and the Salvation Army of Mercer and Trumbull counties.
