Marking 60th, family dinner honors Golises

• POLAND — Julian and Maria Golis of Poland celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 23 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman at a dinner party with family.

Hosting the celebration were the couple’s children, Richard Golis of Poland and Sonia Niro and Julie Mayhew, both of Boardman. Rounding out the family are the couple’s three grandchildren, David, Rachel and Kristen Mayhew.

The Golises are members of St. Stanislaus Church in Youngstown. She is a homemaker, and he retired from LTV Steel as a roll designer. Mr. Golis is a World War II veteran of the 8th British Army’s Polish Commando Regiment.

The former Maria Sepanuik and Mr. Golis were united in marriage on Oct. 23, 1948, at St. Mary Church in Halifax, England.
