ITCL ROUNDUP: South Range, Springfield, Southern, Western Reserve, Leetonia and Columbiana win; Mineral Ridge, Lisbon, Wellsville, Sebring, Jackson-Milton and East Palestine lose


NORTH LIMA — The South Range High football team, behind 14-12 at intermission, rallied for 15 points in the fourth quarter to post a 27-14 victory over Mineral Ridge.

The Raiders (8-2) share the ITCL Tier One championship with Crestview at 6-1.

Jack Dawson threw a 70-yard TD strike to James Nell to put the Raiders out in front and Nick Golic scored on a 10-yard run for insurance points.

Frank Little, who gained 97 yards on 18 rushes, tallied both of the Rams’ (3-7) TDs on runs of 5 and 52 yards. Golic picked up 145 yards on 18 attempts for the Raiders.

Springfield 15, Lisbon 12

LISBON — Bryan Visingardi’s 20-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Tigers (5-5, 2-5 ITCL2) to victory.

The Blue Devils (0-10, 0-7) led 12-2 at halftime after Robert Wilcox’s 12-yard touchdown run and Cody Helman’s 24-yard fumble recovery return.

Zach Bell was credited with the Tigers’ safety in the first quarter. Visingardi booted a 26-yard field goal in the third quarter. Travis Richey’s 1-yard touchdown and Visingardi’s extra-point kick tied the game.

Richey rushed for 124 yards on 25 carries.

Wilcox led the Blue Devils with 101 yards on 12 carries.

Southern 14, Wellsville 12

SALINEVILLE — Extra-point kicks spelled the difference in the game as David Ramsey made both of his placements to give Southern the come-from-behind verdict.

Wellsville (7-3, 4-3 ITCL Tier Two) took a 12-0 lead on Brandon Edison’s 8-yard run and Bubba Dowling’s 11-yard dash.

But Southern (7-3, 4-3) rallied on Dylan Puckett’s 2-yard run in the second quarter and Mike McVay’s 42-yard scamper in the final period.

Nathan Melhor led Southern’s attack with 116 yards rushing in 31 carries, while McVay added 40 yards in six tries.

Wellsville was led by Dowling with 111 yards rushing in 15 attempts, while Edison contributed 61 yards in 18 runs.

Other games

Western Reserve defeated Sebring, 51-19; Leetonia defeated Jackson-Milton, 20-14; and Columbiana defeated East Palestine, 39-13. Details of these games were not reported.
