Rocktoberfest to be held at Quaker Steak

AUSTINTOWN — Quaker Steak and Lube will hold Rocktoberfest — a traditional autumn festival with a rock ’n’ roll twist — from noon to midnight Saturday.

The event is at the restaurant on Interstate Drive, off Route 46. It begins with a costume party for children at noon. Families are invited to come for lunch with music and dancing, games and pumpkin decorating. All kids in costume will receive an award, with best costume winning a special prize at 3 p.m.

A chili cook-off will begin at 1 p.m., with entry open to the public. Recipes will be judged in several categories including best tasting, people’s choice, hottest, most unique and best presentation. Wing-eating competitions will also be scheduled throughout the day, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Tents will be set up to house a Bavarian food and beer taste. Tickets are $5 for the food buffet, and $1 for beer taste. Octoberfest and specialty brews will be available. Proceeds from the beer taste will benefit the World War II Fourth Armored Division Association.

Local rock bands will perform from 4 p.m. to midnight, with Mr. Kyle from 4-6 p.m., Grey Dealer from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and The Rage from 9 p.m-midnight.

A sexy costume show with Playboy model Lisa Neeld and friends will follow.
