NORALYNN PALERMO* (D)

Age: 55.

Home: 424 Madera Ave., Youngstown.

Education: A 1971 Ursuline High School graduate.

Employment: She became recorder in 2007, having worked in that office for 33 years.

Family: Husband, Joseph; sons, Marc and Carey.

Priority: Being a full-time recorder and making the office a cost-effective, customer-friendly operation with the most current computer technology while staying within budget; keeping the staff aware of customers’ wants and needs.

JEANETTE GARR (R)

Age: 51.

Home: 1455 Tori Pines Court, Canfield.

Education: Doctorate in chemical engineering, master’s degree in biochemistry; bachelor’s degree in biology; post-doctoral fellow with U.S. Department of Energy.

Employment: professor of chemical engineering at Youngstown State University since 1993.

Family: Three sons and a daughter, Grade 2 to college age.

Priority: Improving document preservation; protecting taxpayer privacy; achieving accountability and transparency for taxpayers; reducing the size of county government, especially as the local tax base declines; reintroducing Republicans into county offices.
