Formal dinner is fundraiser for Center of Hope

SFlbREACHING OUT: Many of the articles donated for the Hope Gala on Nov. 1 at Mr Anthony’s are being sorted and arranged by Scott Lewis, director of the Big Reach Center of Hope, in preparation the fund-raising auction highlighting the event.

BOARDMAN — The annual Hope Gala on Nov. 1 will be sponsored by the Big Reach Center of Hope at Greenford Christian Church as a benefit for low-income families in the tri-county area.

The formal event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Mr. Anthony’s and will feature a gourmet dinner and live entertainment. There will also be live, silent and Chinese auctions of such items as two round-trip airline tickets, an overnight stay for two at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton, four cruises for two and a $1,000 Eastwood Mall shopping spree.

WFMJ TV-21 personalities participating in the event are Mike Case, who will be auctioneer, and Cindy Matthews, the master of ceremonies. Music will be provided by Back Beat.

Chairing the event is Joe Mineo, and Anna Howells is co-chairman.

The Big Reach Center of Hope provides resources and opportunities to help low-income and underserved individuals in the tri-county area. Since its inception in 2004, it has supplied free groceries, household items, clothing and toys to thousands of families.
