COLUMBIANA — Rebel Hoops Club is having a cornhole tournament fundraiser at 10 a.m. Sunday at Crestview Middle School, 44100 Crestview Road.

The entry fee is $4 per person, and there will be cash prizes for first, second and third place. Contestants are divided into two age groups: adults and junior high-high school teams. ‘Nite at the Races’

WARREN— Someplace Safe Inc., Trumbull County’s domestic violence agency, will host its annual “Nite at the Races” fundraiser Nov. 1 at the Elks Lodge 295, 3581 Youngstown Road S.E.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and races begin at 6:30. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Someplace Safe for $20 per person. The price includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, 50-50 raffle and a Chinese auction.

Reservations are limited; call Someplace Safe at (330) 393-3003 to reserve tickets. Tickets will be sold at the door for $25 per person.

Grant for organ work

YOUNGSTOWN — A grant of $5,000 from the Ruth H. Beecher Foundation will be applied by Stambaugh Auditorium toward the cost of restoring the historic E.M. Skinner pipe organ in the auditorium.

Upon completion of the project in 2010, the organ will be made available for organ students at the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, and organ students at area schools. It will also be used for recitals by local and visiting organists from around the world.
