Presidential election forum Thursday at Jewish Community Center

YOUNGSTOWN — The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will present a presidential election forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

Surrogates of the Obama and McCain campaigns will be the featured speakers.

Dr. John Lehman, chairman of J.F. Lehman & Co., will speak on behalf of Sen. John McCain. Lehman is the former Secretary of the Navy.

Representing Sen. Barack Obama will be Daniel Shapiro, senior policy adviser and national Jewish outreach coordinator for the Obama campaign.

The JCRC is also co-sponsoring a program on this year’s national elections at 7 p.m. Sunday at 3970 Logan Way in Liberty. This program will feature Ron Kampeas, Washington bureau chief of Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
