Ignore polls in Ohio, Rudy urges McCain volunteers

BOARDMAN — Rudy Giuliani, the ex-Hissoner of the Big Apple, urged John McCain campaign volunteers to ignore polls in Ohio.

During a Tuesday visit to the Mahoning County Republican Party’s headquarters, Giuliani went on and on about how polls showing a huge lead for McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, would make the volunteers “complacent.” He said polls showing Democrat Barack Obama with a big lead would make volunteers “depressed.”

Then Giuliani started talking about a poll showing McCain with a lead — he followed that by telling the volunteers to forget about it.

One thing he failed to mention: nearly every single poll in Ohio shows the race is essentially a statistical dead-heat.

Also, when in doubt, Rudy says blame the media. It’s the media that isn’t going after Obama and distorting the records of McCain and Sarah Palin, the vice presidential nominee, he said.
