November General Election Issues Mahoning Valley Several issues are before voters in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties next month. The details:
MAHONING COUNTY
MAHONING COUNTY: An 0.85-mill, 5-year renewal levy for current expenses of the mental health board to raise $3,345,550 annually.
WESTERN RESERVE TRANSIT AUTHORITY: Shall a sales and use tax not to exceed 0.25 of 1 percent for five years to be levied in Mahoning County for all transit purposes of the WRTA? The tax would raise about $7 million to $7.5 million annually.
BELOIT: Shall the village’s zoning commission and its ordinances be repealed?
BOARDMAN PARK: A 0.3-mill, 5-year renewal levy for park operations and maintenance to raise $240,444 annually.
BOARDMAN: A 2.2-mill, 5-year additional levy for police and fire services to raise $2,078,924 annually.
CAMPBELL: Shall a 1-percent income tax for the operations and maintenance of recreation facilities and municipal services continue for a five-year period?
GREEN: A 3.9-mill replacement levy for a continuing period of time for police services to raise $290,352 annually.
MILTON: A 3-mill replacement levy for a continuing period of time for police services to raise $228,593 annually.

TRUMBULL COUNTY, FAIRHAVEN: A 2.2-mill, continuous replacement and increase levy for maintenance and operation of schools, training centers, workshops, clinics and residential facilities for mentally retarded persons to raise $7,492,435 annually. It replaces a levy of 1 mill.
TRUMBULL COUNTY: Shall the county have the authority to aggregate the retail natural gas loads located in the unincorporated areas of Trumbull County (all townships) and enter into service agreements to facilitate the sale and purchase of natural gas except where any person elects out?
TRUMBULL COUNTY: Shall the county have the authority to aggregate the retail electric loads located in the unincorporated areas of Trumbull County (all townships) and enter into service agreements to facilitate the sale and purchase of electricity except where any person elects out?
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP: A 0.7-mill, 5-year replacement levy for current expenses.
CORTLAND: Shall the city have the authority to aggregate the retail electric loads in the city and enter into service agreements to facilitate the sale and purchase of electricity, such aggregation to occur automatically except where any person elects to opt out?
EAGLE JOINT FIRE DISTRICT: (Hubbard City and Hubbard Township): A 1.2-mill, continuous additional levy to provide and maintain fire protection to raise $253,375 annually.
FOWLER TOWNSHIP: A 1.75-mill, 5-year renewal levy for current expenses.
GIRARD: A 1.2-mill, 5-year renewal levy for collection and disposal of garbage or refuse to raise $69,599 annually.
GIRARD: A 0.9-mill, 5-year additional levy for collection and disposal of garbage or refuse to raise $114,374 annually.
JOHNSTON TOWNSHIP: A 0.75-mill, additional levy for a continuous period of time for police protection.
JOHNSTON TOWNSHIP: A 2-mill, 5-year renewal levy for fire protection.
LORDSTOWN: Shall the village have the authority to aggregate the retail purchase and sale of natural gas and enter into service agreements to facilitate the sale and purchase of natural gas, such aggregation to occur automatically except where any person elects to opt out?
MECCA TOWNSHIP: A 1.7-mill, 3-year renewal levy for fire protection.
MECCA TOWNSHIP: A 1.2-mill, 4-year renewal levy for fire protection.
MESOPOTAMIA TOWNSHIP: A 1-mill, 5-year renewal levy for current expenses.
NEWTON FALLS: 12 charter amendments posed as three questions. Among the points contained in it, are: 1. Eliminate term limits for the mayor and council members, changing the mayor’s salary from $4,800 to $6,600 and council member salaries from $3,600 to $5,400, and electing all council members to at-large positions; 2. Requiring the city manager to submit to council a budget no later than Nov. 15 of each year to be adopted by council before Dec. 31; 3. Eliminate the civil service commission and change the park and recreation board from an advisory board to a general policy board.
VERNON TOWNSHIP: A 1.5-mill, five-year additional levy to provide and maintain police protection to raise $35,407 annually.
VIENNA TOWNSHIP: A 1-mill, 5-year additional levy to provide and maintain police protection to raise $86,824 annually.
WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP: A 3.7-mill, continuous replacement of continuous levies of 1.8 mills and 1.9 mills to provide and maintain police protection to raise $523,588 annually.
