SENIOR SIDELIGHTS

Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following: Monday, first computer class at McKinley House at 9:30, beginning bridge at 10, arthritis exercise at 11 ($1), quilting at 1 p.m., cards, sandwiches and salad from 4 to 8 ($2), and TOPS from 5 to 8; Tuesday, light breakfast ($2), square dancing at 9:30 a.m.,( $3); lunch at 11:30, cost ($3 for members and $4 for nonmembers), cards at 2:30, blood pressure checks at health department at 2:30; Wednesday, trip to Wheeling Downs 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., lunch from 11:30 to 1 p.m. ($3 and $4 with speaker from Geauga-Trumbull Recycle, bingo and cards at 1, and players choice cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 ( $3), lunch at 11:30 ($3 and $4), card games at 1; and Friday, movies at 9, cornhole at 9:30, free art class for seniors at 10, arthritis exercises at 11( $1), pot luck lunch at 11:30 ($2), flu shots from 1 to 3 for those who have registered, choir practice and card games, both at 1. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club at 10 a.m., and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10, computer class at 10 and noon, cornhole practice at 1:15, digital club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10, computer at 10 and noon, Tai Chi at noon, and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; and Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m.; exercise at noon, and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Special events include: Tuesday, New Middletown Fun Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. , Wednesday, Austintown Fun Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Oktoberfest party 2-2:30 p.m., Thursday, Boardman Fun Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Friday, Grove City shopping 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flu shots available at all fun days.
