Westminster 46, Bethany 43

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Trevor Young kicked a 44-yard field goal as time expired to snap a 43-all deadlock and give the Titans the win.

It was the first career field goal attempt for Young, a freshman.

The Titans had more first downs, 33-12, but fell into a 28-0 deficit in the first quarter.

Westminster scored all 10 points in the second quarter and used a 19-0 spurt in the third quarter to seize a 29-28 front entering the final stanza.

After the Bison (1-5, 0-4) scored 15 straight points, the Titans (4-3, 2-2) closed the game on a 17-0 run.

Nick McKolosky ran 23 times for 137 yards and Kevin Franz completed 30 of 51 passes for 306 yards to pace Westminster.

Thomas More 35, Grove City 14

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Kendall Owens ran seven times for 143 yards and two touchdowns to lift the Saints (5-1, 4-0) to a 28-0 lead at the break.

Brian Mercer and Stephen Mercer scored 4-yard touchdowns for Grove City (4-3, 1-2).

Edinboro 35, Slippery Rock 14

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Trevor Harris tied a school record with five touchdown passes to ignite Edinboro.

Rich Cerro caught scoring passes of 5 and 14 yards from Harris, who completed 28 for 41 attempts for 378 yards for Edinboro (7-1, 4-1 PSAC West). Josh Brown added four catches for 95 yards and had a 38-yard TD catch from Harris for the Fighting Scots.

Edinboro jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised in the second half.

Brandon Frohnapple and Brad Galvan each threw touchdown passes after halftime for Slippery Rock (4-4, 2-3). The two combined to throw for 170 yards but were sacked seven times. Edinboro held Slippery Rock to just 53 yards on 34 carries.

Earlham 49, Hiram 41

RICHMOND, IND. – Hiram accounted for 489 yards of total offense but still lost the North Coast Athletic Conference game.

Hiram is 2-4, 1-3 NCAC and the Quakers are 1-5, 1-2.

Earlham struck first with a two-yard touchdown run by Ben Marschand at the 8:49 minute mark of the first quarter making the score 7-0. Hiram answered the Earlham score on its ensuing possession marching 67 yards on 11 plays, that included a 41-yard pass completion from senior two-time All-NCAC quarterback Trevor Henderson to sophomore wide receiver Glenn Campbell, and ended with a one-yard TD run by Henderson evening the score at 7-7 with 3:26 to go in the opening stanza. Earlham regained the lead on its ensuing possession with a 42-yard TD pass from quarterback Randy Kerns to Bryant Foreman giving the Quakers a 14-7 lead after the opening period. Kerns’ TD pass would be his first of six on the day.

Mount Union 49, Heidelberg 0

ALLIANCE — Nate Kmic rushed 19 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns to pace the top-ranked Purple Raiders (6-0, 5-0 OAC).

A 1-yard Kmic touchdown run gave gave Mount a 21-0 lead still in the first quarter.

The Raiders increased their lead to 35-0 at intermission.

Heidelberg is 1-5, 0-5.

Greg Micheli completed 15 of 19 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns for Mount Union.

The Raiders have won 29 consecutive regular season games.

Denison 13, Allegheny 10

GRANVILLE — Denison’s Jon Berg scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 10:08 remaining in the fourth quarter to complete a come-from-behind victory.

Denison is 3-2, 2-2 and Allegheny is 2-4, 1-2.

The game-winning drive covered 68 yards in 10 plays and began when the Big Red intercepted Gators’ quarterback T.J. Salopek at the Denison 32 yard line.
