SENIOR CITIZENS


AARP 4545

• Boardman Chapter 4545, AARP, will meet at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman with Elmer Haidle presiding. The menu will be baked turkey or baked scrod for $13.50 each. Reservations are due by Oct 30 by sending a check and menu choice to Helen Day, 543 W. Glen Drive, Boardman, OH 44512, or by calling (330) 782-2816. Chuck Mounds of the Boardman Police Department will be the speaker. Mike and Laura Pavlik are asking members to take paper products or canned goods for the Rescue Mission. HOLY NAME

• Holy Name Seniors will meet at Founder’s Hall at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 for lunch, cards and bingo. Officers for 2009 will be nominated, October birthdays will be observed, and drawings will be held. Hostesses will be Theresa Sevena, Ethyl Cook, Ann Smith and Ruth Infante. Wilma Kutlick will preside.

Keenagers

• The Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church for the election of officers.

Local 1199

• Retirees of Local 1199 will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the union hall on Belmont Ave. There will be a Chinese auction. All members are urged to participate.

MARTHA LUPSE

• Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played when Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Marilyn Boggs will lead the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. • Reac 3298 will meet for a luncheon at 1 p.m. Monday at the Eagles Club on South Raccoon Road in Austintown. Hostesses will be Angie Piesto and Irene Brown. Melva Davis will preside. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and new members are welcome.

• School Employees Retirement Organization will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 23 at Lucianno’s Restaurant on South Raccoon Road, Austintown. Speaking on the gas and electric rate increases will be Andrew Tinkham of the Ohio Consumer Council.
