Liberty Assembly of God to raise funds to fight hunger in Bolivia
STAFF REPORT
LIBERTY — Liberty Assembly of God has been working to find ways to fight homelessness and hunger in Bolivia and will offer a look at the day in the life of a missionary next Saturday to dramatize that fight.
A dinner to raise money for a Bolivian ministry will be that same evening.
The church has raised more than $6,000 and sponsored two mission trips to Bolivia’s Cochabamba region in partnership with Richard Farthing and Compassion International.
Farthing, a missionary, started the Bolivian Hope Center ministry, which feeds more than 500 children a day.
Compassion International has sponsored many of the children in Farthing’s ministry, but more sponsors are needed.
In January, a local team will go to Bolivia to do construction on the Bolivian Hope Center, which consists of a shelter, a church and a soup kitchen.
The church will have a “Bolivian Experience” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Saturday in the church at 6779 Belmont Ave., to show interested parties a day in the life of a missionary in Bolivia. The program is free and open to the public.
At 7 p.m. that day, the church will have a fundraising banquet for the Bolivian Hope Center at Aulizio’s Catering & Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road S.E.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. For tickets, call (330) 539-0003. Donations may be made on the Web at www.myfreedomplace.com or www.bolivianhopecenter.com.
