Hulea, Wollet power Poland to 28-7 win
COLUMBUS — Poland High quarterback Gannon Hulea passed for 131 yards in Friday’s 28-7 victory over Olentangy Orange. Hulea also scored on a 15-yard touchdown run.
Tyler Marsh caught eight passes for 161 yards for the Bulldogs (7-2).
Luke Wollet, Greg Sabol and Anthony Machi also scored. Wollet rushed 19 times for 149 yards. The Bulldogs limited Olentangy to 73 yards rushing and 46 yards passing.
Hubbard 48, Struthers 14
HUBBARD — Matt Shelton threw three touchdown passes, all of them to Curtis Drummond, as Hubbard (7-2, 3-1 AAC White) rolled.
Andre Givens, who rushed for 109 yards, also scored twice, while James Reddick ran back a kickoff 88 yards on the game’s final play.
Hubbard finished with 385 total yards, 202 of them rushing, while Struthers got 121 yards and a touchdown from Joe Balog.
Lakeview 63, Salem 26
SALEM — The Bulldogs (5-3, 2-2 ACC White) rolled up all of their points scoring 21 in each of the first three quarter hand the Quakers their ninth straight loss.
They are 0-4 in the conference.
Ben Moody gained 178 yards rushing on 11 carries scoring touchdowns of 17 and 3 yards. He returned a kickoff 87 yard for another score.
The Quakers’ Trent Toothman connected on 11 of 22 passes for 182 yards. Dustin Matak gained 75 yards rushing.
Campbell 15, Newton Falls 12
NEWTON FALLS — Jalil Turner’s 1-yard touchdown run with 36 seconds remaining was the difference for the Red Devils (3-6, 1-4 AAC Blue).
Lester Hughes, who led Campbell in rushing with 43 yards on 14 carries, also scored a 1-yard touchdown.
Hughes completed eight of 18 passes for 79 yards. The Tigers (3-5, 1-3) jumped out to a 12-0 lead on John Aavis’ 5-yard scoring run and Anthony Kline’s 32-yard score.
Davis gained 89 yards of 16 carries while Brian Sole completed six of 11 passes for 97 yards. One was picked off.
Brookfield 20, Champion 13
CHAMPION — Mack O’Brien scored two touchdowns on a 4-yard run and a 32-yard pass from Matt Palumbo to lead Brookfield (3-6, 2-2 AAC Blue). O’Brien finished with two receptions of 102 yards and 69 yards rushing in 20 carries. Palumbo scored Brookfield’s first TD on a 2-yard run and finished with 2-for-4 passing for 109 yards, and 63 yards rushing in 13 carries. Brookfield took a 20-0 lead before Champion scored twice in the third quarter on Tommy Stroup’s 3-yard run and Bil Yartz’ 7-yard toss to Derek Sumner. Yartz was 7-for-19 passing for 69 yards while Stroup rushed for 60 yards in 18 carries and Travis Damron 57 yards in 13 tries.
