Columbia Gas drive offers prizes

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Columbia Gas annual blanket drive will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Shenango High School Stadium before the Shenango-Union football game.

Pennsylvania state Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Ellwood City, said Columbia Gas is collecting new blankets for needy families.

Gibbons said donors will be eligible for prizes, including Steelers tickets, an official NFL Steelers jersey, a $75 Mill Street Grille gift certificate or $50 gas cards.

Gibbons said his district offices also serve as collection sites, along with the Lawrence County Tourism Promotion Agency, New Castle Library, New Castle Playhouse, Connerly’s Cleaners, United Way of Lawrence County, New Castle Senior High School, Mohawk Senior High School, Shenango Senior High School and Lawrence County Career and Technical Center.
