• At Benjamin Firestone Post 290, American Legion in Columbiana, the kitchen is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and features daily specials, which follow: today, wings; Thursday, Chicken parmigiana; Friday, all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4-7 p.m. The price is $9 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Fish dinners include macaroni and cheese, fries, coleslaw, dessert, and coffee or tea.

FRIDAY

• First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana, will sell homemade chili for carryout only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $5.50 a quart. Containers are provided. Three cornmeal muffins will cost $1, and a slice of pie will be $1.25. To reserve an order, call the church, (330) 482-2666.

• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi. The cost for potato or potato with kraut pirogi is $5 a dozen. Orders will be taken from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• Potato pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order, call (330) 799-0084 at 5:30 p.m. Thursday or from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome, but no sales before 11 a.m. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will sell pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.

• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Frozen pirogi will be sold while supplies last. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9 a.m. and noon only. Pickup will be until 1 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.

• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell real potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to noon Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be by 2 p.m. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. • Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., is having an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12, and takeouts will be available. • Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, 95 Charles St., Clark, Pa., will serve homemade chicken-pie dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include a slice of pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 3 to 10, and free for those under 3. Takeouts and local delivery are available.

• New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St., is having a public sausage, egg and pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Donations are being accepted for the building fund.

• Parkman Chamber of Commerce will serve pancake (with pure maple syrup) and sausage breakfasts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Parkman Community House, Route 422. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12. Those 5 and under may dine for free.

• Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 3919 Southern Blvd., Youngstown, has scheduled a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults ad $5 for children 10 and under. There will also be Chinese and silent auctions for gift baskets and other treasures.

• St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, will serve spaghetti dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. and again from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12. Meals for those taking this announcement to the dinner are $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for children 6 to 12.

• St. Patrick Church, 6387 state Route 87, Kinsman, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. Carryouts will be available, and there will be a bake sale and craft booths.

• Southington American Legion Post 751, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, Southington, has scheduled a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include gravy, real mashed potatoes, coleslaw, vegetable, beverages and dessert. Takeouts will be available. The donation will be $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

• Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut St., Niles, will have its annual pork and sauerkraut dinner with serving from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $3.50 for children 3 to 10. Carryouts are available. The Quilt Group of Trinity, Niles and Girard, will host a Chinese auction for a cross -stitched quilt, three tapestry throws, or two mystery baskets. Tickets are 6 for $5, or $1 each. • Fowler Volunteer Fire Department will hold its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, state Route 193. Prices are $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and children 6 to 12, and free for preschoolers.

• American Hungarian Club is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 for a baker’s dozen (13). Seating will be available for 100 patrons for dinners at 4 p.m., and again for dinners at 6 p.m. The cost will be $12 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12, and free for those under 5.
