Hearing Thursday for Lordstown company's tax request

LORDSTOWN — A local company is looking to expand, but would like to see some tax incentives to do so.

Trumbull County commissioners and other interested parties will have a hearing at 10 a.m. today in the commissioners’ conference room on an enterprise zone agreement proposal from a Lordstown Village company.

Cassens Transport Co./Cassens Land Inc. is requesting tax incentives of 75 percent for 10 years on the construction of a 24,000-square-foot building for its trucking operation.

The company plans to hire 30 new employees in addition to the 120 already employed at the operation.
