Vietnam War vet here Tuesday to stump for McCain

Col. Tom Moe, a Vietnam War veteran who spent more than five years in a Hanoi prison cell next to then-Lt. Commander John McCain, is visiting the Mahoning Valley on Tuesday.

Escorting Moe will be Richard Stobbs, the Republican nominee for the 6th Congressional District and a Vietnam veteran.

Moe will speak on behalf of McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, at 11 a.m. at the Mahoning County Veterans Memorial at the Canfield Fairgrounds on state Route 46.

Moe will then go to the Hope Cemetery’s War Memorial on North Lincoln Avenue in Salem at 1 p.m.

Moe is to be at the Village Green of Lisbon, in front of the Civil War Cannon Memorial, at 2:30 p.m.

All the events are open to the public.
