PEACE RACE \ Sunday’s notes


Ghost sighting: World middleweight boxing champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik participated in the race. He finished 62nd overall with a time of 40 minutes and 14 seconds. When asked about being there, Pavlik jokingly said it was for, “running. A lot of it.”

At the top: Two foreign runners placed in the top five overall spots. Abdelaziz Atmani, 26, of Morocco finished first overall with a time of 29 minutes and 33 seconds. Timon Biwott, 27, of Kenya finished fifth with a time of 30 minutes and 18 seconds.

Jet set: Seven-hundred-forty-seven people finished the 10K run — 471 were men and 276 were women. Runners were grouped in divisions by age. Five men in the 70-and-up division and a woman in the 65-69 division finished the race.

Walk: The two-mile walk prior to the 10K run had 463 finishers. There were 268 men and 195 women who finished. Brandon Pasvanis, 16, of Youngstown finished first overall in the two-mile run/walk with a time of 11 minutes.
