YOUNGSTOWN — Students and faculty in the career and technical education programs at Choffin Career and Technical Center will celebrate the rededication of Choffin with a ceremony and open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The building has undergone a $10.4 million renovation and the public is invited to tour the facilities, meet the teachers and staff and participate in activities.
Refreshments will be served, and special entertainment will be provided by Youngstown’s own Rudy and The Professionals.
Workshop for 55 and up
YOUNGSTOWN — The Janie Wright Mission of Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will have a workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 geared to those 55 years and older.
A representative from the American Red Cross will speak on safety and preparation.

Legal advice at Chevy
YOUNGSTOWN — Community Legal Aid Services will have a client outreach forum at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Chevrolet Centre’s Community Room, 229 E. Front St.
The forum is an opportunity for residents to discuss and ask questions about debts, bankruptcy, foreclosure, tax issues, credit card lawsuits, domestic violence, identity theft, Supplemental Security Income, unemployment insurance, landlord-tenant issues and eviction.
Those attending the forum will also have the chance to ask lawyers specific questions.

Senior Citizens Forum
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services will conduct its first annual Senior Citizens Forum from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 23 in the auditorium at the department’s offices, 345 Oak Hill Ave.
The free event will feature a continental breakfast, guest speakers, workshops and gift giveaways.
Topics will include Social Security, Medicaid, senior safety, identity theft, predatory lending and health issues.

Brick Tribute Program
CANFIELD — The Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, is initiating a Brick Tribute Program to raise funds for improvements to the facility’s swimming pool and bathhouse.
Bricks are available for $20 each. Donors may have their names or the names of loved ones placed on a special memorial board.
